> Dear team captain,
>
> Your team is one of the 30 teams registered for Formula Student Electric (FSE) 2011 or one of the 16 teams on the waiting list. This e-mail is sent to you to inform you, that the FSG Executive Committee has decided, something should be done about the large number of teams on the waiting list, since there are only a very limited number of events, where teams that build an electric car can participate. Therefore, to give the teams on the waiting list a fair chance on participating in FSE2011, all teams registered for FSE2011 and those on the waiting list are asked to provide a status update on their car in three steps.
>
> STEP 1
> All teams registered for FSE2011 and those on the waiting list should upload a pdf-document containing the following items before March 14, 12:00 CET.
>
> Description of the technical concept
> Description of the project status up until March
> Description of the critical path
> Project planning
> List of key suppliers of the tractive system of the car (motors, controllers, accumulators)
> STEP 2
> All teams registered for FSE 2011 and those on the waiting list should upload a pdf-document containing the following items before May 09, 12:00 CEST.
>
> Description of the project status up until May
> Degree of implementation and consequences for the planning uploaded for step 1.
> Location on the critical path
> STEP 3
> All teams registered for FSE 2011 and those on the waiting list should upload a pdf-document containing the following items before June 20, 12:00 CEST.
>
> Description of the project status up until June
> Degree of implementation and consequences for the planning uploaded for step 1.
> Location on the critical path
> Project Planning Requirements
>
> The project plan should be divided in the following technical areas:
> Suspension
> Frame
> control system
> tractive system
> The project plan should be divided in the phases:
> Concept
> Design
> Supplier selection
> Ordering and assembly
> The planning should be in the form of a Gantt chart.
> The milestones for each area should be clearly indicated.
> The planning must clearly show the critical path.
> Each area should be subdivided in its respective systems and subsystems,
> e.g. chassis » steering » steering linkage. Do not list the individual parts!
> Please note, that missing one or more of the aforementioned deadlines may lead to a registered team being deregistered for FSE 2011. If your team is on the waiting list we encourage you to meet the deadlines as well, so your chances on successful event participation can be assessed. Therefore, your team should make sure to meet all deadlines. For any questions, please contact project.planning na fs-e.org.
>
> The FSG executive committee wishes you good luck with the further course of your project.
