[FSE] Invitation to join the Virtual Formula 2012 edition

VI-grade, the leading provider of best-in-class products and services to bridge the gap between real world testing and technical simulation, invites you to the 2012 edition of the Virtual Formula competition. Virtual Formula 2012, realized with the media partnership of the Vehicle Dynamics International magazine and in collaboration with Lamborghini, is built upon the rules and regulations of the popular Formula SAE and Formula Student. The competition, that has seen in its past editions the participation of almost 200 teams worldwide, will be based on the usage of VI-Motorsport, VI-grade’s real-time interactive simulation environment for motorsport vehicle modeling and dynamic analysis used by the most important racing teams and the leading automotive OEMs worldwide. All registered teams will be granted access to VI-Motorsport to find the best set-up for their car. Deadline for registration is Sept 30th, 2012; registered teams will receive models and specifications on Oct
1st, 2012 and will have time until Jan 15th, 2013 to submit their results to VI-grade. The competition will end with an official presentation of the results and award ceremony during the forthcoming VI-grade 5th Users Conference. The participating teams will be challenged to optimize the performance of a virtual race car, minimizing the lap time on a given autocross track. The competition will be won by the team that will drive the vehicle with the shortest lap-time on the given circuit. The winning team will receive 2 VI-Motorsport licenses, a 1-day exciting VI-DriveSim session at VI-grade’s SimCenter as well as lots of merchandising material provided by Lamborghini, technical sponsor of the competition.
